Bernard J. Bogard, M.D.*

The health and happiness of each client guides my interventions. While using a biological, psychological and social (biopsychosocial) framework for evaluation, I specialize in the psychiatric medication and emerging option of Transutaneous Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) portion of treatment to assist in restoring health and quality of life. Balancing potential benefits with potential drawbacks and risks of medication/TMS treatment options involves a special collaboration and mutual commitment found nowhere else in medicine. Dedication to ongoing education, clinical understanding and common sense are ideals I bring to the treatment relationship.

Anna Carrillo, M.D.*

Beginning with a commitment to excellence combined with compassion and innovation, I partner with my patients to promote recovery, optimal mental health and well-being. Being board-certified in three specialties- general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and addiction medicine – provides expert knowledge of genetics, biology and the interplay with environmental factors throughout the lifespan.

I am bilingual in both Spanish and English. After completing my medical degree at New York Medical College in 1995, I moved westward for my residency training at the University of California San Diego. Later, I completed fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 2001, I joined Rady Children’s Hospital and was an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry for UCSD. I was Chief of Staff at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital from 2014 to 2015. I am currently on staff at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital and Sharp McDonald Center.

In addition, I have had my own private practice for the last 12 years. For the last three years we have been pleased to offer TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) a safe, effective non-pharmaceutical treatment for depression.

Joshua M.H. Hall, M.D., Ph.D. *

A native of Denver, Colorado, I first came to San Diego as a UCSD Muir College undergraduate student. After graduating from UCSD, I went back to Denver and completed my medical (M.D.) degree and a Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado. I returned to San Diego in 2003 for psychiatric residency training at UCSD. During this training, I gained experience in psychopharmacology as well as individual and group therapy. My care philosophy is to collaborate with my patients to determine what areas of their lives are most troublesome and how these can be addressed and improved.

My practice provides adult psychiatric care, including treatment of mood, anxiety, psychotic and substance use disorders through medication management. I have been providing TMS treatment for depression since 2015. I am an expert in the diagnosis and pharmacological management of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and have extensive experience treating depression, bipolar and anxiety. I have worked with patients in my office in Poway since 2007. I have been an attending at Aurora Behavioral Healthcare San Diego since 2007, and I am currently its Chief of Staff. I also work part time at the VA San Diego Healthcare System, treating veterans suffering from PTSD.
